Marginalized fatness

challenges and opportunities for ending weight stigma
through cultural and creative economies (CCEs)

2024

About the project

The goal of this mini-research project is to understand the very specific ways how CCEs both contribute and could play a role in tackling weight stigma and provide change for the structurally underserved or marginalized fat people in Europe. As a result, an article will be written to be a creative inspiration for initiating a discussion about weight stigma, fat representation and the potential of CCEs to address the harmful effects of oppressive systems.

The project is carried out in collaboration with Creative Impact Research Centre Europe (CIRCE).
